In many work scenarios, liquid splashing is the most common “work risk.” In a catering kitchen, you deal with oil and water splatters. In cleaning, you deal with many cleaning products. In hair and beauty, you deal with hair dyes and chemicals. Once clothes get wet, it not only affects work efficiency but may also cause health risks.
The custom waterproof apron is a high-performance apron specially designed for people who need “protection + cleanliness + professional image.” It adopts a “fabric base + waterproof coating” process. It can efficiently block the seepage of water stains, oil stains, and liquids while keeping comfort and airflow.
Pace-setter uses high-density polyester fabric as the base material. We apply a professional waterproof coating on the fabric surface, giving it the following properties:

Pace-setter custom waterproof apron support comprehensive customization services, combining utility with brand promotion.

We mainly use cotton or polyester, with a waterproof coating on the surface.
Polyester with coating can effectively prevent the penetration of water and oil.
Screen printing or digital printing can be used, with bright colors and no easy fading.
The surface is smooth, and oil stains and liquids can be wiped off easily.
Yes, different sizes can be customized according to needs.
Usually 15-25 days, depending on the quantity and custom plan.
Custom waterproof aprons are not defined by a single level of resistance. They are defined by performance tiers under different liquid exposure conditions.
Sourcing a waterproof apron without specifying performance tier is the most common mistake in this category. An apron rated for light kitchen splash fails in a fish processing facility. An industrial-grade PVC apron is unnecessarily heavy and expensive for a café barista. The right specification depends entirely on the liquid exposure environment — and getting it right before sampling prevents the mismatch that generates complaints and returns.
Pace-Setter produces waterproof aprons across three performance tiers. Here is how each maps to its appropriate environment:
Tier 1 — DWR-Coated Woven Fabric (Light Water Resistance)
A woven cotton-poly or nylon base fabric treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish. Water beads and rolls off the surface under normal splash conditions. The fabric retains breathability and a textile hand-feel — it looks and feels like a fabric apron, not a plastic one. Suitable for: café service, light food prep, bartending, salon and beauty environments where appearance matters alongside protection.
Limitation: DWR performance diminishes with repeated washing and abrasion. Reapplication (spray or tumble-dry heat activation) restores performance, but for high-wash-frequency institutional use, a higher-performance tier is more appropriate.
Tier 2 — TPU-Laminated Fabric (Intermediate Waterproofing)
A textile base bonded to a thermoplastic polyurethane membrane. The TPU layer provides continuous waterproof barrier performance — not just surface treatment — while the textile face maintains printability and a softer exterior appearance than PVC. Suitable for: pet grooming facilities, food processing operations, commercial dishwashing environments, laboratory use with water-based liquids.
TPU laminates are lighter and more flexible than PVC at equivalent thickness, making them better suited for extended-wear environments where comfort over a long shift matters alongside protection. The textile face accepts screen printing and embroidery, making branding more viable than on smooth PVC.
Tier 3 — PVC / Heavy-Duty Vinyl (Industrial Waterproofing)
A solid PVC or vinyl construction — not a coated fabric but a plastic sheet material. Maximum liquid resistance, including oils, light acids, and cleaning chemicals. Wipe-clean surface requires no laundering. Suitable for: fish and seafood processing, slaughterhouse and meat processing, industrial cleaning, chemical handling environments.
Trade-off: PVC is heavier, less breathable, and significantly harder to print on than textile alternatives. Branding on PVC aprons is typically achieved through embossed labels, sewn-on patches, or heat-applied transfers rather than direct print — a production constraint worth acknowledging before briefing a design.
The weakest point of any waterproof apron is not the fabric or material — it is the seams. A perfectly waterproof PVC panel attached to a neck strap with a standard sewn seam creates a needle-hole penetration at every stitch point. In light-use environments this is negligible. In environments where liquid saturation is the norm — fish processing, commercial dishwashing, slaughterhouse work — stitch-hole penetration allows liquid to reach the wearer’s clothing through the seam rather than through the face material.
Waterproof materials create specific branding challenges that textile aprons do not. Direct printing on PVC or high-density laminates is not compatible with standard screen printing or reactive dye methods — the surface doesn’t accept ink the way woven fabric does.
Pace-Setter’s approach to branding on waterproof aprons by material tier:
DWR-coated woven (Tier 1): Standard screen print, digital print, and embroidery all work on the textile face. No branding limitation.
TPU-laminated (Tier 2): Screen printing on the textile face works well. Embroidery requires stabilizer backing to prevent needle holes affecting the membrane. Logo on the textile face preferred over membrane face.
PVC / vinyl (Tier 3): Heat-transfer labels and sewn-on patches are the most reliable branding methods. Screen printing directly on PVC is possible but requires PVC-compatible inks and lower wash durability expectations. For buyers who require visible branding on industrial PVC aprons, sewn-on woven labels at the bib or chest position are the most durable solution.
For buyers building a branded waterproof apron program, sharing your branding requirements alongside the material tier preference at inquiry stage allows us to confirm the appropriate decoration method before sampling begins.
