Abstract

This case records the production process of a custom project for a Japanese grocery company – a custom super-soft velvet sock drawstring bag. From customer samples to mass production, we successfully completed 7,270 orders with high-standard printing and dyeing technology, precise special-shaped design splicing, and an efficient full inspection process. The customer expressed great satisfaction with custom drawstring bags, and made it clear that he would return orders in the future.

Initial Communication

On Sep 11th, 2024, we received an inquiry from a Chinese foreign trader. Its customer is a Japanese grocery company. The customer needs custom cloth drawstring bags for its sock series products as free packaging to enhance the overall market competitiveness.

 The customer sent a physically customized drawstring bags sample and hoped that we could make samples according to the sample specifications, and at the same time make 7 custom velvet bags with different colors and patterns according to the provided design drawings.

Through communication with the customer, we summarized the customer’s specific needs. The customer wanted super-soft velvet drawstring bags for socks, with a quantity of 7,270 and 7 different custom designs.

Some Challenges We Meet

During the proofing process, we encountered some challenges. After discussion, we gave the best solution, as follows.

Design and splicing of special-shaped bags. Since the shape of the sock drawstring bag is special, the splicing of the front and back pieces needs to be accurate. Any slight error may affect the appearance and functionality of the bag. 

Therefore, we use laser cutting equipment to ensure the consistency of the cutting pieces, and pass strict sewing standards to ensure that there is no deviation between the front and back pieces of the drawstring velvet bag body.

Adjustment of printing direction. The customized drawstring bags design pattern need to be positive after sewing. For this reason, we adjusted the direction of the printing process to avoid the risk of rework after production. 

For this, we use DIG printing technology to adjust the pattern direction according to the splicing structure of the promotional drawstring bags to ensure that the finished product is consistent with the design drawing.

Secondary proofing to adjust the color. The customer asked us to adjust the color of one of the velvet bag drawstring and asked us to do a secondary proofing. We adjusted the printing formula to change the small velvet bags color from the initial light yellow to the yellow that the customer was satisfied with, and started mass production after the customer confirmed it.

Production and Delivery

After confirming the custom super-soft velvet sock drawstring bag samples and production details, we quickly started the production plan and completed the full inspection, packaging, and delivery of 7,270 custom drawstring bags within 20 days.

Customer Feedback

After receiving the finished product, the customer was very satisfied with our performance in special-shaped splicing, color adjustment, and efficient production, especially the clarity and color accuracy of the printing pattern. 

The customer clearly stated that he would increase the order quantity in the future and would cooperate with us to develop more grocery packaging products.

This custom super-soft velvet sock drawstring bag project not only demonstrated our professional capabilities in special-shaped bag design but also provided customers with reliable product support through strict quality control and production efficiency.
