Abstract

In September 2025, we received a customization request from a Japanese client specialized in general merchandise for a custom polyester satin jersey-shaped drawstring bag. The client wanted to place an order for 1,500 blue jersey-shaped drawstring bags made of polyester satin, 24 × 21 cm in size. Utilized digital printing in the production process; the items needed custom packaging; the digital printed graphic on each bag should match its jersey-shaped cut.

The difficulties of the jersey design took the core challenge of the project with every graphic pattern and dimension requiring to be in-sync and including the drawstring as well to showcase the original look perfectly.

Initial Communication

On September 20th, the customer submitted an inquiry on the site, clearly stating their requirements for satin drawstring bags. The client asked for jersey-shaped blue drawstring bags with an order quantity of 1500 pieces and specified that the printed graphic on each bag must match the outer shape of the bag exactly.

The client wants customized packaging. Additionally, he wants to speed up the sampling process for timely design confirmation. To assess the scope of the project, we confirmed our production capacity, sampling lead times and pricing. Additionally, we proposed technical optimization solutions regarding the jersey’s shape and graphic alignment—demonstrating our professional expertise in the field of B2B custom gift bags for the Japanese market.

Challenges and Solutions

The project utilized polyester satin fabric, with the jersey graphics applied via a digital printing process. During the sampling stage, we took strict measures to ensure that the shape of the jersey was perfectly aligned with the printing details. Additionally, we used “overlock and topstitch” sewing technique to keep the opening of the bag flat and neat and strong. The first sampling took five days. 

At the client’s request, a second sampling was undertaken to ensure that the graphic patterns and shapes of every custom drawstring bag shaped like a jersey matched their exact expectations. The client approved the final samples after ensuring that all details were according to design.

Customer Feedback

The customer was very happy with the sampling and production. They complimented how exactly we made the jersey-shaped drawstring bags according to their design. After the delivery of the products, the client gave feedback saying that the graphics of the jersey were clear and crisp, the dimensions were accurate, stitching was neat and the drawstring components were functional and easy to use. The custom packaging also met the client’s expectations. 

Even though there was no reorder for this project, the client highly praised the production efficiency and process management regarding the custom polyester satin drawstring bags. This sets an excellent precedent for future work with this client.
