Abstract

This case details the whole process of our custom polyester cotton kids smock apron for Japanese customers. Through the selection of polyester-cotton materials and detailed adjustments, we successfully met the customer’s high standards for whiteness, design and functionality of the kids smock apron, and delivered 1,000 orders on time, providing reliable support for the customer’s newly developed products.

Initial Communication

On Jul 11th, 2024, we received an inquiry from a Chinese foreign trader, whose customer is a company from Japan that sells student supplies. The customer is developing kids Smock for school duty students to wear when distributing meals. A custom student apron must ensure that the appearance is clean and beautiful, and it must also be durable and practical.

The customer clarified the following requirements:

The school apron is white and the material is initially determined to be pure cotton.

The school smock size must conform to the specified size chart and be equipped with white elastic bands and Velcro.

The craft smock needs to be practical and easy to put on and take off, suitable for daily use by students.

Sample Proofing

During the initial proofing process, the customer chose cotton smock apron material. After the sample was completed, we confirmed it to the customer through pictures and videos. 

The customer reported that the white color of pure cotton was a bit beige, and they wanted pure white. Therefore, the customer decided to switch to polyester- cotton smock apron (80% polyester + 20% cotton) to achieve a higher whiteness standard while ensuring that the material is light and easy to wash.

Second proofing

The customer made several modification suggestions on the details of the preschool smocks. We responded quickly and completed the following adjustments:

• Material change: The kids smock apron change to polyester-cotton bleached cloth to improve whiteness and reduce yellowing problems.
• Elastic band length adjustment: The white rubber band is extended from 12mm to 80mm to increase comfort.
• Optimization of the back design: The V area of ​​the school smocked outfit back width is reduced from 126mm to 115mm, which is more in line with the human body structure.
• Velcro improvement: The kids school smock velcro length is adjusted from 30mm to 35mm to enhance the fixing effect.
• Pocket reinforcement: The backstitch treatment is added at both ends of the smock front pocket to improve durability.
• Important position reinforcement: To prevent cracking, double seam edge technology is added.
• Label position adjustment: The name label is changed to the left side of the washing label to meet customer habits.

Bulk Order

To ensure that the details of the smock school modification meet customer needs, we made a pre-production sample. After all the details were confirmed, we put them into mass production and completed the delivery of the mass goods on October 21.

Customer Feedback

After receiving the product, the customer highly recognized our detail processing and production efficiency, especially the whiteness and functional design of the custom polyester cotton kids smock apron. The customer clearly stated that he would consider cooperating with us on more projects in the future.
