Abstract

This case illustrates the complete process of Pace-setter customizing cotton poplin drawstring bags for customers in Taiwan. The order consists of two designs, with 10,000 pieces of each. 

Customers craft small cotton drawstring bags from high-quality cotton poplin and use active positioning digital printing to achieve precise custom designs.

This project showcases exceptional craftsmanship and stringent quality control, providing customers with products that meet the high standards required for the Japan World Expo.

Initial Communication

In August 2024, the Pace-Setter website received an inquiry from a customer in Taiwan, China. 

The customer’s company primarily specializes in various grocery products. They requested the customization of cotton poplin drawstring bags for the upcoming World Expo. 

The customer emphasized that the drawstring bags must meet the high-quality standards of the exhibition and expressed a desire to customize two models, with an order of 10,000 bags for each model. 

Through our discussions, we learned that the customer has specific requirements regarding the customized drawstring bags material, size, color, and craftsmanship.

Make the bags from 15 cm x 15 cm cotton poplin material, create patterns using digital printing technology, and individually package them in separate OPP bags.

Quotation

After receiving the customer’s specific requirements, we promptly provided a detailed quotation for customized drawstring bags. 

The customer expressed satisfaction with the quotation and subsequently confirmed the project timeline, reasonably scheduling the production of large quantities.

To ensure the customer was pleased with the texture of the material, we sent a sample of the fabric for their review.

Upon receiving the sample, the customer approved the feel and quality of the cotton poplin.

Cooperation

After preliminary discussions, we finalized our cooperation with the customer from Taiwan. The customized drawstring gift bag is made from 15×15 cm cotton poplin fabric. 

We are producing two styles, with 10,000 pieces of each individually packaged in OPP bags for easy transportation and storage.

The designers create the pattern using positioning digital printing, ensuring that the pattern remains clear, delicate, and free from color discrepancies.

The size and color of the accessory rope have been carefully selected to complement the cotton poplin drawstring bag, resulting in a beautiful and durable product.

Proofreading:

We finished the sample production in seven days based on the customer’s needs. Then, we sent the finished product to them.

Given the World Expo’s stringent quality requirements for custom cloth drawstring bags, we paid special attention to detail throughout the production process to ensure the integrity of the printing and dyeing patterns and the quality of the sewing. 

The sample received the customer’s approval on the first attempt, and they were very satisfied with the overall effect and quality of the finished product.

Production:

Pace-Setter’s production of custom drawstring bags involves several key stages: printing, cutting, sewing, quality inspection, and packaging.

Printing and Dyeing: We utilize advanced active positioning digital printing technology to ensure that the color fastness, clarity, and fidelity of the product pattern 

closely match the customer’s original manuscript.

After printing, the material is cut to the specified size and shape, ensuring that sufficient seam margins are left. Skilled workers perform the cutting manually.

Sewing: The conventional process for printed cotton drawstring bags consists of two main steps.  First, the edges are secured with an overlock machine, and then you splice them with a flatlock stitch. 

After sewing, the drawstring must be threaded and knotted. 

The length of the drawstring should be adjusted according to the width of the bag opening to ensure it is neither too tight nor excessively long, maintaining a balanced appearance.

Quality Control

Since this project will be showcased at the Japan World Expo, the customer has exceptionally high standards for the quality of the finished product.

We conduct random inspections to monitor the quality of each batch, with particular attention to the printing and dyeing effects, the durability of the seams, and the proper installation of the ropes.

Any defective cotton drawstring bags will be promptly reworked to ensure that every bag delivered meets the customer’s specifications.

Delivery

Within the specified delivery period, we completed the production of all customized drawstring bags and individually packaged them in OPP bags as requested by the customer. 

To ensure the timely and safe delivery of the goods, we communicated with the customer and ultimately decided to use DHL for transportation.

After receiving the goods, the customer provided high praise for the appearance and quality of the customizing cotton poplin drawstring bags, stating that this collaboration fully demonstrated the professionalism and efficiency of Pace-setter.
