Abstract

On March 11, 2026, we received an inquiry from a trading company in Japan. The client mainly develops and sells celebrity merchandise. This project involved a custom ant fabric mini shopper tote bag, a small-size, high-precision tote bag development project.

The product uses ant fabric material, with a total order of 1,500 pieces (750 yellow and 750 blue). The size is 19×8 cm, using digital printing. Each item requires full inspection before shipment and is intended for celebrity merchandise retail use.

The main challenge of this project was the extremely small size and complex structure, while ensuring that the print position and stitching lines do not interfere, and that the final bag maintains a structured and upright shape.

Initial Communication

The client sent the inquiry on March 11, 2026, requesting a custom mini shopper tote bag for celebrity merchandise sales.

Since the product is used in the fan merchandise market, both visual presentation and product texture were highly important. The client wanted a lightweight bag but still with a firm and structured shape.

We provided two material samples for comparison: wave crepe fabric and ant fabric. After testing and tactile evaluation, the client finally selected ant fabric tote bag material, as its surface texture is more suitable for digital printing and provides better structural support.

Proofing

The sampling was completed on April 1, 2026, focusing on the structural stability of the custom printed small tote bag.

Due to the very small size (19×8 cm), the folding and seam areas had extremely limited space, requiring very high precision in both stitching and print alignment.

During the first sample stage, we identified a key issue: the original artwork had incorrect print positioning, which caused part of the design to be covered by stitching lines in the final product, affecting the visual result.

We communicated with the client immediately and helped adjust the artwork. The print layout and stitching positions were optimized to ensure the full design remained visible after production.

In addition, ant fabric is lightweight and slightly “loose” in structure. Without finishing, the bag would appear too soft and unshaped. To solve this, we added an extra ironing and shaping process before shipment. This ensured each custom ant fabric tote bag stayed structured and neat before final inspection and packing.

The final sample was approved in one round, with no need for re-sampling.

Production & Delivery

Mass production ran from April 17 to April 28, 2026.

During production, we implemented a full inspection standard. Every mini shopper tote bag customization unit was individually checked, including print position, stitching quality, and size consistency.

In the sewing stage, we strictly controlled the folded structure of the bag opening to maintain stable shaping even under small-size constraints. Through segmented ironing and shaping processes, we ensured the final products would not collapse during transport or display.
